Biennale - Julie Rrap

I was very excited to see Julie Rrap at the Biennale!!!!
This work fits in with her ouvre, with her ever expanding fascination with 'the body'. She has cast her body in clay, in a fetal position and has attached a plait down the back and between the cheeks of her backside.
good one jules.

I LOVE Julia Rrap! I haven't seent he artwork you're talking about, but it reminds me a lot of the bronze casts she did, where she put her elbows and knees and the a block of bronze. I think she's really interesting. And Mike Parr's sister! Yay!

I remember seeing that bronze work you're talking about (or one of them at least) at the Body Double exhibition that was on at the MCA a while back. It was funny watching people interact with it - if I remember the intention was for the viewer to sit in the cast in the same way Rrap had, and thus appear on the TV screen and temporarily be a part of the work, but people were skirting around it, maybe waving their foot in front of the camera for a bit and laughing at what they saw, but that was about it. They all seemed a bit scared of it.
