Just to clear up some confusion on my part, I thought we were supposed to do two artists? Also, should our brief be posted up here by Monday so that everybody has a chance to read it before Tuesday's discussion?
2: Topic area oral presentation 30%
Choose one of the weekly seminar topics that particularly interest you - ‘ART & ARCHITECTURE’ for instance.
Research one artist whose work can be situated within that field. You may choose an artist featured in the Art & Today set text. Research the artists practice via the web, online Databases within the USYD library website or the library journal/book stacks at SCA or other USYD libraries.
Prepare a brief review (200-400words) focusing on why the artist is relevant to your chosen field. Post the review and at least one image (with reference information) to the Blog.
Present your review formally during the specified weekly seminar. Your presentation should initiate discussion around the topic area. Begin with a quote or a key idea relating to that topic area. It is an opportunity to share your research and the ideas generated by that research. The presentation should last 10 minutes – you will be stopped after 11 minutes. Please use PowerPoint for the presentation of images. It is anticipated you will use a maximum of 5 images.
You will be assessed on the clarity and relevance of ideas presented, the contribution to the Blog and evident research and planning.
